What is DTG?

DTG are the initials of “direct to the garment”. That is, the ink system is used to print on the chosen fabric. It is just like a home printer, with the difference that instead of printing on paper, it will do so on fabric.

Why use DTG?

  • Design is printed directly on fabric.  This process allows the ink to soak into the natural fibers of the shirt, thus not having a heavy feeling of plasitol or screen print feeling.
  • DTG can only be printed on "natural fibers" such as cotton or bamboo.  These materials are breathable and much lighter resulting in a lighter feeling for your clothing.

DTG vs. Screen Print

  • DTG inks soak into the natural fibers of the apparel.  This results in a lighter, less irritating, less stiff feel when wearing the shirt.

  • Screen printing pushes ink onto the fabric.  The ink doesn’t soak into the fabric, but lays on top of the product.  The more colors and elements you have the more layers you have thus making it feel thicker, heavier and stiffer on the product.  Over time and with washes the ink on top of the garment may crack and peel since it is not absorbed into the fabric

  • Any color
  • White - Black and everything in between

What type of material are the shirts?
