2023 Blue Ribbon Country Fair

The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center is excited to announce the 2023 Blue Ribbon Country Fair, in its 16th year of preserving and promoting Southern Appalachian culture through a traditional country fair. The event is Saturday, September 30 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the grounds of the Heritage Center in Townsend, TN.

Featuring competitions, including canning, produce, floral arrangement, fiber arts, woodworking, poultry, student art, honey, and photography, the Blue Ribbon Country Fair will showcase the immense talent of the region. Demonstrators and living history experts will bring old-time traditions to life. Be sure to stop by the “Pick Tennessee Products” booth, drop in the Townsend Artisan Guild tent for a kid’s craft project, and see the members of the Foothills Quilting Guild in action. Sheepshearing demonstrations will happen every hour, and ladies can sign up for our Lodge Ladies Skillet Throw contest.

Fair admission is free to the public, although there is a $5.00 per car parking fee. Heritage Center members receive free admission and free parking. Make plans to attend!
